Do you support integration to LMS?

Yes, we do. All Learning Management Systems that support the format SCORM 1.2 will be able to integrate to SynergyXR.

In SynergyXR we support two different LMS user flows:

  • One flow for PC, MAC and VR - See below video:

If you want to read more about the flow, click here.

  • One flow specifically designed for PC users, where the SynergyXR app. is automatically launched and the user is automatically logged in. See below video:

1. Flexible LMS flow that supports, VR headsets, PC, MAC and iOS

This method involves exporting SynergyXR training modules as SCORM 1.2 compliant packages, which can then be imported into your LMS.

Steps:

  1. Tagging the Training Space:
    • In the SynergyXR Manager, navigate to the "Spaces" section.
    • Identify the Space containing the training content you wish to integrate.
    • Tag this Space as a "Training Space" to ensure it's recognized appropriately during the export process.
  2. Exporting the SCORM Package:
    • Within the SynergyXR Manager, select the tagged Training Space.
    • Choose the option to export as a SCORM 1.2 package.
    • The system will generate a SCORM-compliant zip file containing the necessary content and metadata.
  3. Importing into LMS:
    • Log into your LMS as an administrator.
    • Navigate to the course or module section and select the option to import a SCORM package.
    • Upload the SCORM zip file exported from SynergyXR.
    • Configure any additional settings, such as enrollment options or availability.
  4. Learner Access and Authentication:
    • When a learner launches the VR training module from the LMS, they will be directed to a web landing page.
    • The page provides:
      • Instructions to use a VR headset for the training.
      • A unique PIN code for session access.
      • Extraction of the learner's LMS ID to ensure accurate tracking.
    • Learners enter the provided PIN within the SynergyXR application to access the specific training session.
  5. Tracking and Reporting:
    • SynergyXR tracks key events during the training, including:
      • Session joined
      • Training started
      • Training completed
      • Session left
    • These events are stored in SynergyXR's Learning Record Store (LRS).
    • The SCORM package periodically polls the LRS for updates. Upon detecting a "Completed" event, the LMS marks the training module as completed for the learner.

Benefits:

  • Seamless Integration: Learners access XR training directly through the familiar LMS environment.
  • Tracking: Detailed event tracking ensures accurate monitoring of learner progress and completion.
  • Standard Compliance: Utilizing SCORM 1.2 ensures compatibility with a wide range of LMS platforms.

2. PC Auto Launch Flow

The PC Auto Launch Flow is designed to enhance the user experience by automating the launch and authentication processes of the SynergyXR application directly from the LMS. This integration is particularly beneficial for organizations aiming to provide seamless access to immersive training modules.

Steps to Implement PC Auto Launch Flow

  1. Prepare SynergyXR Training Space:
    • In the SynergyXR Manager, identify or create the Space intended for training.
    • Tag this Space as a "Training Space" to ensure it's recognized appropriately during the integration process.
  2. Export SCORM Package with Embedded Credentials:
    • Within the SynergyXR Manager, select the tagged Training Space.
    • Choose the option to export as a SCORM 1.2 package.
    • During the export process, embed a username and password into the SCORM package.
      • Note: It's recommended to use a generic user account with the “Viewer” role that has limited access, specifically for this training module, to maintain security.
      • Ensure this account does not have administrative privileges.
  3. Import SCORM Package into LMS:
    • Log into your LMS as an administrator.
    • Navigate to the course or module section and select the option to import a SCORM package.
    • Upload the SCORM package exported from SynergyXR.
    • Configure course settings, such as enrollment options and availability.
  4. User Access and Automatic Launch:
    • When a learner accesses the training module within the LMS, the embedded SCORM package will initiate the SynergyXR application on their Windows PC. (This requires the learner has already installed the SynergyXR application on their PC prior to launching the LMS course.)
    • The application will automatically log in using the embedded credentials.
    • The learner is directed to the specific Training Space associated with the module.

Benefits of PC Auto Launch Flow

  • Seamless User Experience: Learners can transition directly from the LMS to the SynergyXR training environment without manual logins, reducing friction and enhancing engagement.
  • Efficient Training Deployment: Automating the launch process simplifies the deployment of immersive training modules, saving time for both administrators and learners.
  • Consistent Access Control: Utilizing a dedicated generic user account ensures that access is controlled and consistent across all learners, while maintaining security protocols.
