What are the main concepts called in SynergyXR

Get an overview of organizations, workspaces, user roles, spaces, environments, sessions, content and procedures.

Organization & Workspaces

Each company using SynergyXR has their own Organization. An organization can include multiple Workspaces - different departments in an organization typically has separate workspaces.

Everything you do in SynergyXR is allocated to a Workspace: user access; content; spaces; multiuser sessions; etc. This means that a Workspace provides clear separation of data and collaborative sessions. This also means that there is no need for separate user accounts – a single user account can have access to several Workspaces, within the same Organization or in separate Organizations – with the same or different access levels.

When logging into SynergyXR the user will be asked to select between the available Workspaces. Everything done henceforth is isolated to that Workspace until the user switches to another Workspace.

As an example, a single Organization can have separate Workspaces for the Engineering department and for the Marketing department.

User Roles

Users can take on different Roles in SynergyXR:

  • Admin: manages users
  • Author: manages content and Spaces
  • Viewer: can start sessions but not save changes to Spaces
  • Guest: time-limited users only able to join existing Sessions

Space & Environment

In SynergyXR, a Space is used to set the scene of a session. An empty Space is often referred to as an Environment.

Environments comes in different shapes and sizes:

  • Default: Built-in standard environments
  • Custom: Bespoke environments to fit your needs
  • 3D scan: Created with LiDAR-enabled iOS device. Spatially persisted and fully textured

Collaboration

Everything you do in SynergyXR is collaborative. When entering a Space, you automatically start a Session where your colleagues are free to join you.
  • Multi-user by default – no need for special configurations
  • Co-author Spaces
  • Group training
  • Password protected Sessions for added privacy

Content

Authors can dynamically add digital Content to a Space during a Session. The following content types can be used:

  • 3D models
  • Images
  • Video
  • PDF

All changes to a Space can be saved by author/admin users to be used another day.

Procedure

Add interactivity to your Space by adding a Technical Training Procedure.

  • Bespoke training procedure
  • Fully articulated interactivity with content

Visual and audio guidance that can be disabled for exams. Procedures can be built in the SynergyXR Procedure Builder which is built into the Windows and Mac client applications.
